Decade – corresponds to a period of 10 years, always begins with a year ending in 1 and ends with the end of year 0. Example: The 1990s, began in 1991 and ended in 2000, or the 90

Century – a period of 100 years. Eg seventeenth century began in 1601 until 1700.

Millennium – Period 1000 years. Ex: First millennium began in the year 001 to 1000.

 

Discovering that century belongs year.

. If the year ends in 00, just cut two zeros and has the century wondering. After writes in Roman numerals.
1500 (00 cuts) = 15 = fifteenth century

. If the year does not end at 00, cut up the last two digits of the year, add 1 to the number that remains and has the century wondering. After it is written in Roman numerals.
1822 (22 cuts) = 18 + 1 = nineteenth century
